20/20 — Disappearing Glaciers

Buckhorn Public Arts is partnering with photographer and expedition lead Andrew Wilz on 20/20 — Disappearing Glaciers, a 2026–2028 Phase I museum‑grade field archive documenting disappearing glaciers and northern transformation across the circumpolar North and alpine headwaters. The work is produced as primary record, built for long‑term public access, exhibition, and institutional stewardship.

Buckhorn’s role is to develop and administer the public arts and education program—including exhibitions, partner projects, and community‑facing programming—designed to translate a remote, time‑bound field archive into accessible public engagement around conservation, headwaters and water systems, and cultural heritage.

Aspen is the project’s operational home base. Buckhorn and WilzFoto are also in active dialogue with the Aspen Art Museum (AAM) regarding potential long‑horizon stewardship pathways and public access for a defined master archive deposit, including education‑facing materials and ongoing project updates.
